Dermatology

The dermatology veterinarian treats skin, hair and nail problems and is a specialist in allergies and otology (diseases of the ear).

Dentistry

Our dentistry department is under the responsibility of Dr. Yvan Dumais, the only veterinarian in Quebec to have completed a specialized course at the American Veterinary Dental College.

Surgery

Our surgery department, in some ways the DMV Centre’s focal point because of the great number of interventions practiced every week, is headed by three surgeons, each of whom enjoys a solid reputation: Dr. Jérôme Planté, Graduate ECVS (European College of Veterinary Surgeon); Dr. Jacques Dupuis, Graduate ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeon); and Dr. Élaine Madore, DVM, IPSAV, DES.

Internal medicine

Since April 2006, the DMV Veterinary Centre has offered a specialized internal medicine service. We are proud to present our internal medicine specialists: Dr. Lianne Fifle and Dr. Mathieu Ouellet, both graduates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. They both earned their graduate degrees at the Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire of Université de Montréal and continued their studies, each completing an internship and an internal medicine residency.

Oncology

In 2006, Dr. Hugues Lacoste, ACVIM diploma holder (Oncology), joined the DMV Veterinary Centre. His mission is to evaluate and treat pets affected with various types of cancer. Dr. Lacoste received his DVM from the Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire of Université de Montréal.

Radiocative I-131 treatment

The DMV Veterinary Centre is proud to offer iodine-131 treatments for cats suffering from hyperthyroid problems. Since radioactive iodine is a regulated substance, this treatment is offered in very few clinics in Quebec. Considered one of the best treatments for feline hyperthyroidism, iodine-131 is a simple, efficient and safe treatment that cures 95% of hyperthyroidic cats.

Imaging

The diagnostic ultrasound service, as of July 2008, will be under the supervision of Dr. Hugo Joly. It will be Dr. Joly’s task to interpret DMV Centre radiographs (surgery department radiographs excepted). He will also provide this service to referring clinics.
